Safety

Sabelhaus West practices safety first in all aspects of their business. All managers are OSHA 30 and First Aid/CPR trained. Field employees are also OSHA 10 and First Aid/CPR trained. Annually Sabelhaus holds a Safety Training Day in which classes for respiratory protection, fall protection, lead awareness, and hazard communication are offered.

All employees are expected to know and uphold the policies and procedures outlined in the Accident Prevention Plan. Every new Sabelhaus employee must go through a safety seminar which includes respiratory protection, lead awareness, fall protection, hazard communication, and ladder safety. They are also given the basic safety rules handbook and are expected to read it and sign the back page; they are then scheduled for additional training when it is offered.

Site superintendents are always supplied with a job safety packet. Each packet is specific to the job. Included are: Emergency Contact list, directions to nearest medical facility, near miss form, Activity Hazard Analysis, MSDS/Tech Data and Weekly Safety Meetings. They are then required to return those packets, at the end of the job, completed.
